Ángel Guzmán, (Utuado, PR, 1959)
Pintor, artista gráfico y dibujante. Obtiene un Bachillerato en Artes Gráficas de la Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Puerto Rico. Sus maestros fueron: Fran Cervoni, David Goitía, José Alicea y Julio Suárez. Participó en talleres de grabado como impresor junto a los artistas Antonio Martorell, María E. Somoza y Julio Suárez. En 1991 obtuvo el Primer Premio en Pintura y Mención de Honor en Grabado y Dibujo en el Certamen de Arte del Ateneo Puertorriqueño, en 1994 el Segundo Premio en Pintura de la Fundación Alfonso Arana, entre otros. En el 2001 fue artista invitado en la Muestra de Arte Nacional del Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña en San Juan. Trabaja la pintura al óleo, el grabado y actualmente, la escultura en madera. Sus obras tratan, en su mayoría, temas sociales.

Painter, graphic artist and draftsman. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Arts from the Puerto Rico School of Visual Arts. His teachers were Fran Cervoni, David Goitía, José Alicea, and Julio Suárez. He has participated as a printer in engraving workshops with artists Antonio Martorell, María E. Somoza, and Julio Suárez. In 1991 he received First Prize in Painting and an Honorable Mention in Engraving and Drawing at the Ateneo Puertorriqueño’s Art Competition, and in 1994 Second Place in Painting from the Alfonso Arana Foundation, among others awards and recognitions. The Institute of Puerto Rican Culture selected him as guest artist for the National Art Exhibition in San Juan in 2001. He works in oil painting, engraving, and currently in wood sculpting. His works deal mostly with social issues.
