Susana Herrero Kundhart, (Nueva York, EU, 1945)
Artista gráfica, dibujante y pintora. En 1967 obtuvo su Bachillerato en Arte de la Universidad de Puerto Rico (UPR), en Mayagüez y en 1970 su Maestría en Arte en la Universidad de Missouri; también tomó cursos intermedios de arte en la Universidad Interamericana de San Germán. En 1989 ocupó la dirección interina del Departamento de Bellas Artes de la UPR en Río Piedras y contribuyó significativamente a la incorporación del intaglio, la litografía y la colografía al currículo universitario. Fue profesora de la Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Puerto Rico y actualmente continúa ejerciendo dicha labor en la UPR, Recinto de Río Piedras. Enseñó dibujo y grabado en la Liga de Estudiantes de Arte de San Juan, y fundó allí el primer taller de intaglio y litografía. Ha recibido invitaciones honorarias de bienales y trienales europeas por jurado internacional. Su obra se ha difundido en las más prestigiosas exposiciones internacionales en el Caribe, los Estados Unidos, Latinoamérica, Japón y extensamente por Europa. Sus litografías y dibujos se distinguen por sus sinuosas líneas y sus figuras, basadas en la anatomía humana, aisladas y flotando en el espacio visual.

Graphic artist, draftswoman, and painter. In 1967 she obtained her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Puerto Rico (UPR), Mayagüez campus, and in 1970 her Master of Arts from the University of Missouri. Additionally, she studied intermediate level art courses at Inter American University in San Germán. In 1989 she was interim director of the Fine Arts Department of the UPR Río Piedras campus and contributed significantly to the inclusion of intaglio, lithography, and colography into Department curriculum. She was professor at the Puerto Rico School of Visual Arts and at the UPR, Río Piedras campus. She taught drawing and engraving at the Art Students' League of San Juan and established its first intaglio and lithography workshop. She has received honorary invitations from international juries to participate in European biennials and triennials. Her work has been disseminated throughout the most prestigious international exhibitions of the Caribbean, the United States, Latin America, Japan, and extensively through Europe. Her lithography and drawings are distinguished by their sinuous lines and their figures, based on human anatomy, which appear isolated and floating in the visual space.
