José Ángel Quiñones Llópiz, (San Juan, PR, 1967)
Pintor. Entre 1982 y 1989 realizó estudios artísticos en la Liga de Estudiantes de Arte de San Juan, como parte de un programa de becas continuadas. En 1991 obtuvo un Bachillerato en Bellas Artes de la Universidad de Puerto Rico. Ese mismo año presentó su primera exposición. Luego se trasladó a Chicago, donde ejerce como maestro de arte y exhibe su obra. Ha pintado paisajes y bodegones pero ha preferido trabajar la figura humana. Estas figuras no son realistas ni surrealistas, son la representación de su interpretación acerca de la condición humana. Sus pinturas se han presentado en más de una docena de exhibiciones individuales y colectivas. Sus obras forman parte de colecciones privadas en Chicago, Madrid, Boston y San Juan.

Painter. Between 1982 and 1989 he studied at the San Juan League of Art Students as part of a continued education scholarship program. In 1991 he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Puerto Rico. That same year he held his first exhibition. He later moved to Chicago, where he worked as an art teacher and exhibited his work. He has painted landscapes and still-lifes, but prefers working with the human figure. These figures are neither realist nor surrealist; they represent his interpretation of the human condition. His paintings have been shown at more than a dozen individual and collective exhibitions. His works are found among private collections in Chicago, Madrid, Boston, and San Juan.
