Carlos Santiago, (Peñuelas, PR, 1978)
Pintor. Egresado de la Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Puerto Rico en el 2001, año en que recibió la Beca Arana, la cual le permitió un año de residencia en París. Durante su estancia tomó clases en la institución Teophile Gautier, en el Taller de Bellas Artes de la Marie y en el Estudio de Daniel Fisher; además de trabajar en su taller en Gambetta y en el de Alfonso Arana. Ingresó también al grupo de “Les Rats Du Champs”, quienes viajan anualmente a Los Alpes para pintar sólo con acuarelas. Ha tenido varias exhibiciones individuales en y fuera de Puerto Rico. Colectivamente ha participado en exhibiciones en Estados Unidos, Canadá, Francia, Perú y Puerto Rico. En el 2004 participó en la Casa de la UNESCO en República Dominicana. Con su expresionismo nos habla de la resistencia, del humanismo y el desafío.

Painter. He graduated from the Puerto Rico School of Visual Arts in 2001 and was awarded the Arana Scholarship, which allowed him to live in Paris for a year. During his stay, he took classes at the Teophile Gautier institute, the De la Marie Fine Arts Workshop, and the Daniel Fisher Studio, in addition to working at the Alfonso Arana atelier and at his own atelier in Gambetta. He also joined the “Les Rats Du Champs” group, who travel yearly to the Alps to paint exclusively in watercolors. He has held several individual exhibitions in Puerto Rico and abroad. He has participated in collective exhibitions the United States, Canada, France, Peru, and Puerto Rico. In 2004 he participated in the UNESCO House in the Dominican Republic. His expressionism speaks to us of resistance, humanism, and defiance.
