Eric H. French, (Indiana, EEUU, 1969)

Pintor, fotógrafo, dibujante, escultor, artista digital y videoartista.

Eric H. French, (Indiana, EU, 1969)

Painter, photographer, draftsman, sculptor, digital artist, and video artist. As a child, he moved to Puerto Rico with his family. He received First Prize in Painting at Chase Manhattan Bank’s Young Art Biennial a year before he completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Puerto Rico School of Plastic Arts in 1994. In 1996 he completed his Master of Fine Arts at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia, where he received the Malcolm Propes Fellowship for best student portfolio. He returned to Puerto Rico in 1996 and currently works as a professor at the School of Visual Arts and the University of Puerto Rico. A fundamental characteristic of his pictorial work is an enormous expressive strength of color, using mixed media with thick impastos that are sometimes applied directly from the tube. At times he makes his own pigments and works with the notion of traditional versus non traditional methods.
