Adrián Badías Mangual, (San Juan, P.R., 1966)
Escultor. En 1987 obtiene un Bachillerato en Artes y Arqueología de la Universidad de Princeton en Nueva Jersey y en 1993 recibe el Diploma Nacional Superior de Bellas Artes otorgado por la Escuela Nacional Superior de Bellas Artes en París, Francia. En la década del noventa vivió en Madrid y en París y también transitó por Yugoslavia y Bélgica. En su estadía por Europa participa en un proyecto de esculturas en la fachada del Museo del Louvre. Ha recibido premios como: el Scholar at the Casa de Velázquez, Madrid, España y el Prix Rocheron, Sculpture Division, París, Francia, entre otros. En el 2000 le fue otorgada una beca para cursar estudios doctorales en el programa Espacio Público y Regeneración Urbana: Arte y Sociedad, en la Universidad de Barcelona. Ha expuesto individualmente en España y Puerto Rico, además de participar en colectivas en San Juan, París y Bélgica. En su obra utiliza materiales de construcción y sustancias químicas; como concreto, acero, tela metálica, emulsiones fotográficas y acrílicos.

Sculptor. In 1987 he received a Bachelor in Art and Archaeology from Princeton University in New Jersey and in 1993 the National Superior Diploma in Fine Arts conferred by the National Superior School of Fine Arts in Paris, France. In the nineteen-nineties he lived in Madrid and Paris and also traveled through Yugoslavia and Belgium. During his stay in Europe he participated in a sculpting project of the façade of the Louvre Museum. He has received awards such as the Scholar at the Casa de Velázquez, in Madrid, Spain, and the Prix Rocheron, Sculpture Division, in Paris, France, among others. In 2000 he received an endowment to pursue doctoral studies in the Public Space and Urban Regeneration: Art and Society program at the University of Barcelona. He has had individual exhibitions in Spain and Puerto Rico, in addition to participating in collective exhibitions in San Juan, Paris and Belgium. In his work, he utilizes construction materials and chemical substances such as concrete, steel, wire screening, photographic emulsion and acrylic.
