David Goitía, (San Juan, P.R., 1932 - 2005)
Artista gráfico. Fue uno de los miembros más jóvenes de la Generación del cincuenta. Estudió con el maestro Juan Rosado, más tarde con el italiano Nino Sparcino y el español Carlos Marichal, quienes lo tomaron bajo su tutela y lo admitieron como estudiante especial en su taller de artes gráficas de la Universidad de Puerto Rico. En 1956 es nombrado director artístico en WAPA TV y en el 1958 el Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña (ICP), le otorga una beca para estudiar pintura mural y artes gráficas en México. Allí estudia en la Escuela de Artes Aplicadas bajo la tutela de los maestros Angiano, Ocampo y los hermanos Machado, a la vez, trabaja como ayudante del maestro González Camarena en la creación de un mural. A su regreso trabajó como profesor de la Escuela de Artes Plásticas del ICP. Colaboró en el Programa de Teatro del ICP donde se destacó con una producción importante de carteles dedicados al Festival de Teatro Puertorriqueño y el Festival de Teatro Internacional.

Graphic artist. He was one of the youngest members of the Fifties Generation. He studied with maestro Juan Rosado, and later with Italian Nino Sparcino and Spaniard Carlos Marichal, who took him under their wing and admitted him to their graphic arts workshop at the University of Puerto Rico as a special student. In 1956 he was appointed artistic director of the WAPA TV television station, and in 1958 the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture (ICP) awarded him a scholarship to study mural painting and graphic arts in Mexico. He studied there at the School of Applied Arts under the guidance of maestros Angiano, Ocampo, and the Machado brothers, while at the same time working as assistant to maestro González Camarena in the creation of a mural. Upon his return, he worked as a professor at the ICP School of Visual Arts. His collaboration with the ICP Theater Program resulted in an important production of posters dedicated to the Puerto Rican Theater Festival and the International Theater Festival.
