Reynaldo González Bravo, (Arecibo, P.R., 1968)

Pintor. Comenzó sus estudios formales en arte en 1992. Posee un Bachillerato en Artes Plásticas con concentración en Artes Gráficas de la Escuela de Artes Plásticas de San Juan. Hizo su Maestría en Artes Plásticas de la Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico, Recinto de San Germán. Su trabajo se ha presentado en diversos certámenes y exposiciones. En el 2000 ganó el Primer Premio en Pintura del Certamen de Arte Joven de la Corporación de Puerto Rico para el Nuevo Milenio. También ha sido premiado en La Habana, Cuba con el Primer Premio de Mejor Ilustración y la Fundación Alfonso Arana por Mejor Dibujo.

Reynaldo González Bravo, (Arecibo, P.R., 1968)

Sculptor, painter, draftsman, and professor. In 1978 he completed his Bachelor of Arts in Sculpture at the Puerto Rico School of Plastic Arts, and in 1982 his Master of Arts in Drawing, with a major in Sculpture, from the Universidad Complutense in Madrid. He has held several individual exhibitions and has participated in various collective exhibitions in Puerto Rico. His sculptures can be bound in collections and public spaces; among them Cangrejos (Crabs), a functional sculpture of public benches in Santurce. He has also created other public art projects in Fajardo, San Sebastián, Añasco, and Humacao. He is a professor at the Puerto Rico School of Plastic Arts. The Puerto Rico Chapter of the International Association of Art Critics has twice awarded him best exhibition of the year (in 1996 and 2004). His sculptural work fuses materials as diverse as stone, wood, metal, and found objects; he sometimes applies patinas, oxides, and tints to his surfaces. A frequent motif in his pieces is the soursop.
