Connie Ann Martín, (Ponce, PR, 1951)
Pintora. Comenzó a pintar desde muy temprana edad bajo la tutela de maestros como el español José Azaustre. Artista con una extensa formación académica; obtuvo un Bachillerato en Bellas Artes de la Universidad del Sagrado Corazón (donde se le otorgó la Medalla de Arte en 1972). Estudió en la Academia de Arte Peña y en la Real Academia de San Fernando en Madrid. Hizo estudios de Posgrado en Barcelona, posee una Licenciatura en Filosofía y Letras (Sección Historia del Arte), estudió en la Liga de Estudiantes de Arte de San Juan y finalmente en Lago de Como, Italia. La Asociación de Críticos de Arte (AICA) le otorgó el premio Primera Exhibición Individual en 1998. Ha participado en exhibiciones colectivas en España y Puerto Rico y cuenta a su haber con varias exposiciones individuales desde 1990. Su obra de fuertes pinceladas y exuberante cromatismo caribeño se inspira en temas de la naturaleza y las tradiciones de la cultura puertorriqueña.

Painter. She started painting at an early age under the guidance of teachers such as Spanish artist José Azaustre. An artist with an extensive academic background, she obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Sacred Heart University (where she received the Medal for Art in 1972), studied at the Peña Art Academy and the San Fernando Royal Academy in Madrid, completed postgraduate studies in Barcelona, has a degree in Philosophy and Letters (Art History Section), studied at the San Juan League of Art Students, and finally, in Lake Como, Italy. The Association of Art Critics awarded her the First Individual Exhibition prize in 1998. She has participated in collective exhibitions in Spain and Puerto Rico and has held several individual exhibitions since 1990. The strong strokes and exuberant Caribbean chromatism of her work is inspired in nature and Puerto Rican cultural traditions.
