Bart Mayol, (Utuado, PR, 1911 - San Juan, PR, 2007)
Dibujante, acuarelista y pintor. Comenzó sus estudios de arte a los ocho años edad con el pintor puertorriqueño Oscar Colón Delgado. Se trasladó a Washington, D.C., donde inició formalmente sus estudios en Artes Plásticas en la Galería Corcoran. Cursó estudios de Bachillerato y de Postgrado en Maryland Institute of Art and Design en Baltimore donde tuvo como mentor al pintor americano Leon Kroll y al muralista Magill Mackall. Estudió en el Instituto de Arte Otis en Los Ángeles bajo la tutela de Paul Alexander Brook. Viajó a Inglaterra donde estudió en el Instituto de Arte y Diseño Industrial de Blackpool donde obtuvo su maestría. En Estados Unidos participó en varias exhibiciones colectivas y regresó a Puerto Rico en el 1950; creando arte en diferentes medios y destacándose en la creación de varios murales. Ganó varios premios en y fuera de Puerto Rico. Su obra, de estilo realista, capta la esencia del ser humano y el dramatismo de sus personajes.

Draftsman, watercolor artist, and painter. He began his art studies at the age of eight with Puerto Rican painter Oscar Colón Delgado. He moved to Washington, D.C., where he began formal studies in plastic arts at the Corcoran Gallery. He pursued undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the Maryland Institute of Art and Design in Baltimore, where his mentors were American painter Leon Kroll and muralist Magill Mackall. He studied at the Otis Art Institute of Los Angeles under the guidance of Paul Alexander Brook. He traveled to England and studied at the Blackpool Institute of Art and Industrial Design, where he obtained his Master of Arts. He participated in several collective exhibitions in the United States and returned to Puerto Rico in 1950. He created art in different mediums and became known for the creation of various murals. He has won several prizes in Puerto Rico and abroad. The realist style of his work captures the human essence and the dramatic quality of his characters.
