Arnaldo Roche Rabell, (San Juan, PR, 1955 - San Juan, PR, 2018)

Pintor. Comenzó su formación en la Escuela de Arte Luchetti en Santurce, donde tuvo como maestro a Lope Max Díaz. En 1969 estudió en la Escuela de Arquitectura de la Universidad de Puerto Rico y continuó en Art Institute de Chicago, donde obtuvo su Bachillerato y su Maestría en Bellas Artes en 1984. Desde entonces se ha dedicado por completo a la pintura. Es uno de los artistas puertorriqueños contemporáneos más destacados en la plástica nacional e internacional. Su obra pictórica ha sido expuesta en diversos países como México, Brasil, Venezuela, España y Ecuador, entre otros. Ha participado en numerosos eventos internacionales, ganando gran cantidad de premios y distinciones. Su obra de intenso contenido psicológico explora el autorretrato, figuras familiares y el paisaje, en obras de gran formato, en las cuales el color y las múltiples texturas son el fundamento de su propuesta fuertemente expresiva.

Painter. He began his studies at the Luchetti Art School in Santurce, where he studied under Lope Max Díaz. In 1969, he began studies at the University of Puerto Rico School of Architecture and continued at the Chicago Art Institute, from where he received his Bachelor’s degree and Master of Fine Arts in 1984. Since then he has devoted himself entirely to painting. He is one of the most outstanding contemporary Puerto Rican artists in national and international visual arts. His work has been exhibited in numerous countries, such as Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela, Spain, and Ecuador, among others. He has participated in many international events and has received various prizes and distinctions. Color and multiple textures are the foundation of his strongly expressive large format work, which has an intensely psychological content and includes self-portraits, familiar figures, and landscapes.
