Nora Rodríguez Vallés, (San Juan, PR, 1957)
Pintora y artista gráfica. En 1980 obtuvo un Bachillerato en Bellas Artes, Magna Cum Laude, de la Universidad de Puerto Rico y una Maestría en Arte y Estudios de Género de Vermont College of Norwich University en 1988. Ha tomado cursos de dibujo y pintura con Bartolomé Mayol, serigrafía con Nelson Sambolín, serigrafía y fotografía con Myrna Báez e intaglio con François Bricaut. Ha recibido becas del Fondo Nacional del Quehacer Cultural; del Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña y de la Fundación Alfonso Arana. Ha impartido cursos en la Universidad del Sagrado Corazón, Universidad de Puerto Rico, Colegio Universitario de Cayey, la Universidad Interamericana, Escuela de Artes Plásticas Museo de Arte de Ponce y Casa Candina. En su obra pictórica desarrolla una diversidad de temas a través de composiciones figurativas que reflejan un interés por la armonía del color, las formas y el espacio.

Painter and graphic artist. In 1980 she obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts, magna cum laude, from the University of Puerto Rico, and in 1988 a Master of Arts in Gender Studies from the Vermont College of Norwich University. She has taken courses in drawing and painting with Bartolomé Mayol, serigraphy with Nelson Sambolín, serigraphy and photography with Myrna Báez, and intaglio with François Bricaut. She has been awarded scholarships from the National Fund for Cultural Affairs, the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, and the Alfonso Arana Foundation. She has taught at Sacred Heart University, the University of Puerto Rico, the Cayey College of the University of Puerto Rico, Inter American University, the School of Visual Arts, the Ponce Art Museum, and Casa Candina. Her pictorial work develops diverse themes through figurative compositions reflecting an interest in the harmony of color, shapes, and space.
