Ángel Giovanni Ruiz, (Nueva York, EEUU, 1965)
Escultor. Autodidacta. Hijo de artesanos puertorriqueños que trasladan a Puerto Rico a principios de la década del setenta y quienes le transmiteron amor al arte de la orfebrería. Entre 1985 y 1991 trabajó la orfebrería y el diseño artesanal, tanto en Puerto Rico como en la República Dominicana. A comienzos de la década del noventa regresó a los Estados Unidos, para especializarse en tecnologías y teorías avanzadas en soldadura de diversos metales, en la prestigiosa Universidad Los Medanos College de Pittsburg, California, donde obtuvo un certificado acreditado por la American Welding Society. Ha sido premiado en Puerto Rico, Chicago, Nueva York y Europa. Es uno de los más talentosos y hábiles representantes de la escultura puertorriqueña contemporánea.

Self-taught sculptor. The son of Puerto Rican artisans who returned to the Island in the early seventies and who instilled in him a love for the art of working with precious metals. From 1985 to 1991 he practiced this craft, as well as artisanal design, in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. In the early nineties, he returned to the United States to specialize in advanced technologies and theories in the welding of various metals at the prestigious Los Medanos College in Pittsburg, California, where he earned a certificate of accreditation from the American Welding Society. His work has received awards in Puerto Rico, Chicago, New York, and Europe. He is one of the most talented and skilled representatives of contemporary Puerto Rican sculpture.
