Roberto Moya (Nueva York, EU, 1932 - Boston, EU, 2008)

Pintor y artista gráfico. Estudió en Eastern New Mexico University, Pratt Graphic Arts Center de Brooklyn, New School for Social Research de Nueva York, New York Phoenix School of Design y University of Southern California. Se ha presentado en numerosas de exhibiciones en Puerto Rico y el extranjero, incluyendo una exposición retrospectiva en Hawaii en 1998. En 1989 hizo el primer portafolio digital en Puerto Rico, por el cual fue invitado a dirigir un seminario en el Pratt Graphic Center. A principios de la década del noventa impartió cursos en la Universidad de Puerto Rico como artista residente. Utilizaba la computadora para hacer exploraciones de color antes de intervenir en la tela. Su obra, de estilo semiabstracto, se caracteriza por una amplia pincelada cargada de pigmento.

Painter and graphic artist. He studied at the University of Eastern New Mexico, the Pratt Graphic Arts Center in Brooklyn, the New School for Social Research in New York, the New York Phoenix School of Design, and the University of Southern California. He has participated in numerous exhibitions in Puerto Rico and abroad, including a retrospective exhibition in Hawaii in 1998. In 1989, he prepared the first digital portfolio in Puerto Rico, for which he received an invitation to lead a workshop at the Pratt Graphic Center. In the early nineties, he taught courses at the University of Puerto Rico as resident artist. He uses his computer for color exploration before working on fabric. His semi-abstract work is characterized by broad, pigment-saturated brushstrokes.
